MSS | Soyuz MS-04 mission patchRussia's Soyuz MS-04 will launch to the International Space Station in March 2017. Roscosmos cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and NASA astronaut Jack Fisher will join the Expedition 51/52 crew. The Soyuz MS-04 patch design is inspired on the iconic Apollo 12 patch. The classic sailing ship symbolizes the dream of flying in space. The vessel trails a stream of stars, as used in the patch for Expedition 52, which cosmonaut Yurchikhin will command during the second part of his stay on the International Space Station, symbolized by the single star to the left of the ship. Behind the ship in Earth-like colors is a depiction of Konstantin Tsiolkovski's design for a space station, while the border is similar in design to spaceship commander's Yurchikhin earlier Soyuz patches. His name and that of astronaut Fischer, together with the name of the spaceship incorporating the Roscosmos logo and the space fliers national flags occupy the border of the logo. COR482932 | Very similar to Yurchikhin's Soyuz TMA-19 and TMA-09M patch designs. Nice! |
QuiGon Grin | After reading the description and looking at the artwork did anyone start hearing in their mind: "It's been a long road, getting from there to here ..." In case you don't understand the reference. |
328KF | Interesting that an Air Force Academy grad would go for a design inspired by one for an all-Navy crew! |
Russian | I know Fedor will have his new personal patch for his fifth flight with new slogan. He also will have EVA patch together with Riasanskiy. Great opportunity for our collections! More information we will have only next year. |
Russian | Got information from Moscow, TsENKI will order MS-04 brochures, medals (50) and pins (100). No patches at all... |
Russian | Fyodor Yurchikhin has his new personal patch — I know for sure! New slogan: "Roads Are Leaving With Walkers" in Latin. The previous one was: "Roads are Done By Walkers" also in Latin. And his first personal patch was with a classic slogan in Latin: "Viam Supervadet Vadens." Hope he will land with a new version of the MS-04 patch with three names on it... |
Russian | Congratulations for spacepatches.nl! Your 33rd patch in a row is aboard the ISS! "Argo" spaceship docked properly to the ISS. I can not imagine this name will not appear somewhere in Fedor's emblems! |
waa49 | There is another/new version of the Soyuz MS-04 patch with the names of all three crew members. See after landing pictures. Any information about this Soyuz MS-04 patch?
|
MSS | Here are some photos of them. |
Russian | Normally Fedor was supposed to add ARGO in Greek somewhere on the landing version of the MS-04 patch. |
James913 | Here’s a shot of the MS-04 landing patch. Somewhat hard to see if you’re not looking for it, the word Argo (the legendary ship of Jason and the Argonauts) is stitched below the ship in ancient Greek: Ἀργώ. Below is the landing patch compared to the Roscosmos prime crew and backup crew patches. Notably, the landing patch has a cut edge and plastic backing. The crew patches are fully merrowed edges and come with plastic and cloth backs (the latter for sewing onto flight garments). |
Robert Pearlman | A photo showing the crew affixing the Soyuz MS-04 landing crew patches to their Sokol pressure suits: |
Russian | As far as I understood this landing version of the MS-04 logo was adopted by Luc in touch with Yurchikhin already aboard the ISS. You are really strong, Luc! Congrats!! |
Russian | A panel Energia and Fedor Yurchikhin produced because the Soyuz MS-04 was called by the crew "Argo" — legendary ship of argonauts (Greek mythology). Fedor's mother is Greek. Argo in Greek is seen on the landing version of the MS-04 patch. Here the panel is on the wall of the living compartment of the ship docked to the space station. |
Liembo | Does anyone know who produced this replica patch? It was executed on black felt.
